By composing musical roles across multiple turntables,
the routine allowed DJs to perform rhythm, melody,
and improvisation simultaneously.
The idea later appeared in championship routines
and influenced the structure of
modern turntablism performances.
the concept helped transform the dj from record selector into performing musician.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Music has been my lifelong teacher, mirror, and medicine. Through life’s challenges, it taught me that physical, mental, and spiritual health are essential to creating anything of meaning.

Turntablism and production are the languages i speak. They allow me to communicate ideas, emotions, and truth beyond words. Music can make us dance and celebrate, but it can also unite communities, spark movements, and even save lives.

I approach the craft with discipline and intention. I believe in mastery over hype, integrity over noise, and legacy over trend. What I create is not for momentary attention, but to contribute something lasting to the history of musicianship.

As a father and cultural participant, it is my honor to pass the craft forward with respect for those who paved the way and responsibility to those who will carry it next.

For me, the craft is not a role. It is a way of life.
EDUCATION & PRESERVATION
TEACHING THE ART OF TURNTABLISM
PASSING KNOWLEDGE OF THE CRAFT
TO THE NEXT GENERATION.
Turntablism has always been built on mentorship and the sharing of techniques between generations of DJs.
Through workshops, private instruction, and DJ school programs, DJ Apollo continues that tradition by teaching the musical, technical, and cultural foundations of the craft.
From mixing and crowd control to advanced turntable techniques, the goal is not only to develop technical skill, but to preserve
the deeper traditions of DJ culture.
